Our Star Scholarship Program

Selection Criteria

    * Show promise to make positive contributions to society
    * Academic leadership and competitiveness
    * Leadership potential
    * Total combined parent income must be equal to or less than $60,000
    * Be a high school junior or senior or a college freshman or sophomore

Scholarship Requirements

    1. Resume (two-page limit)
    2. 500 word essay
    3. First two pages of parents/guardians' most recent 1040 tax return
    4. Scanned copy of an official and signed school transcript
    5. One letter of recommendation

In your essay, discuss why you would like to attend the Ivy League Study Skills Learning and Leadership Institute. Briefly identify your strengths and weaknesses and discuss what you hope to do with the skills you learn. This must be submitted as a Word document (Times New Roman font, size 12, and double spaced) and must be entirely written by you. Please prominently write your name and contact information (email and phone number) in the header of your essay.

The recommendation letter must be written from a school staff member or community member and be no longer than one page. Please inform your recommendation writer to limit this to one page and email this as a Word document directly from his/her official email address to star@ivyleaguestudyskills.com or fax it on official letterhead to (641)-795-1898. The subject line in the email or fax should read: "Recommendation for [student’s name] in [city session]."

All scholarship materials must be received no later than three (3) weeks before the start of the session. Applicants must send parts #1-4 of the application via email to star@ivyleaguestudyskills.com. All scholarship applicants will receive notification of their application status through email two weeks before the institute. Because of the competitiveness of this scholarship, we cannot accept any application that is received after the due date.

We reserve the right to decide who will win the scholarship(s) and how many scholarships will be awarded based on the specified criteria above and are under no obligation to explain our decisions to anyone for any reason. Unfortunately, the selection process is extremely competitive so we are unable to answer any questions about the criteria or award selection.

The information that applicants share with us will only be used for the purposes of selecting scholarship winners for the Ivy League Study Skills Learning and Leadership Institute and will not knowingly be shared with any other third party. All information will be destroyed immediately following the decision of the scholarship winner(s).
